Shoals typewriter is a famous typewriter brand in history. It was invented and marketed by American inventor Christopher Sholes in the mid-19th century. The Shoals typewriter adopted the layout of modern typewriter keyboards, which is widely used today. The earliest Sholes typewriters used mechanical manual operation, and later electric and electronic variants were also developed.
