Changxin Palace Lamp

Changxin Palace Lantern of the Western Han Dynasty, a bronze vessel of the Han Dynasty in China, was unearthed in 1968 from the tomb of Dou Wan, wife of Liu Sheng, King Jing of Zhongshan, Mancheng County, Hebei Province. The body of the palace lantern is a gold-plated palace maid who sits squatting while holding the lantern with both hands, with a quiet and elegant demeanor. The lamp body is 48 cm high and weighs 15.85 kg. The design of the Changxin Palace Lantern is very ingenious. The palace lady holds the lantern in one hand, and the sleeve of the other hand seems to be a windshield. It is actually a siphon to absorb oil fumes, which not only prevents air pollution, but also has aesthetic value. This palace lantern is named after it was once placed in the Changxin Palace of Empress Dowager Dou, and it is now in the Hebei Museum.
