Homopolar Generator

The Faraday generator is a generator based on Faraday's principle of electromagnetic induction. It was invented by British physicist Michael Faraday in the early 19th century. It was the first generator that did not use chemical methods. A Faraday generator uses changes in a magnetic field to generate an electric current. When the magnetic field and the wire in the coil move relative to each other or the strength of the magnetic field changes, an induced current will be generated in the wire. Faraday generators use this principle to convert mechanical energy into electrical energy through the relative motion between a rotating magnet and a coil of wire.
